Abstract

A facile polymer-assisted method achieves simultaneous exfoliation and noncovalent functionalization of MoSe2nanosheets. The nanosheet dispersion can further assemble into a novel “smart” nanocomposite hydrogel, whose dual-responsive (photo- and thermoresponsive) behavior is reversible and can be controllably tailored by varying the distribution of hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups in the polymer.
